Though IPO’s from Solar Winds and others were notable, M&A was even more robust with acquired companies including Vignette, SPSS, Wind River, and DataSynapse.  And since M&A is still the predominant exit, Software SIG invites you to hear from both sides of such transactions. First, a PowerConnect session with corporate development executives from major software companies will discuss best ways for startups to work with, partner, and ultimately position themselves for possible acquisition. They will also talk about trends these companies are watching, and what segments are of most importance to them. Afterwards, stay tuned to learn from Visa about trends in the economy and how they affect you.
 
And, to cap off the program, you’ll hear CEO keynotes from the two biggest M&A headliners in 2009: Omniture and SpringSource.‪ Omniture’s acquisition by Adobe at $1.8B is the largest SaaS M&A.. SpringSource's $362M acquisition is VMware's biggest and most strategic. After the CEO's share their lessons learned in building their companies, they will sit down for a fireside chat and audience Q&A to deep dive in their experiences.
