Indus Entreprenures seek inspiration from Frontlines

California: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a global network of entrepreneurs and professionals held conference on communicating strategies and transfromaive business models last week.

"In an industry that is known for measuring successful return on investments, TiEcon is unparalleled in its contributions to entrepreneurs; for example, all of the eight chairs who organized TiEcon 2005 founded companies within six months of the conference, and three of us have already successfully exited those companies,” said Manish Chandra, CEO, Kaboodle and co-chair of TiEcon 2008.

TiEcon Co-convener Ajay Chopra, who is also a venture capitalist with Trinity Ventures, announced the theme for TiEcon 2008 as Entrepreneurship Unbounded: Inspiration from the Frontlines.

Keynote speakers at the conference were board member at Face book Peter Thiel, Chairman Intuit Bill Campbell. Cambell is a board member for Apple Computer and is reputed to build scalable companies.

The event also featured keynote panels showcasing CEOs to have built billion dollar companies in India. The other panel focussed on entrepreneurs causing explosive growth in the shortest period  and was moderated by Kara Swisher from The Wall Street Journal.

The other high-profile speakers included CEO SpaceX Elon Musk; CEO, Gilead John C. Martin and Founder and CEO of Room to Read John Wood.
