Sandhya is a Director of Corporate Development at Cisco, leading a team responsible for setting and executing Cisco's acquisition and private equity investment strategy in the Software, Collaboration, Video, Mobility, and Unified Communications markets. Sandhya has led the development and execution for some of Cisco’s most successful acquisitions including the recently announced acquisition of Tandberg, which will strengthen Cisco’s leadership in Video Communications and Collaboration, and Webex, which reinforced Cisco’s leadership position in Collaboration and Unified Communications and launched the company into the Software-as-a-Service market. Sandhya also led the acquisitions of Securent, Postpath and Jabber which will complement the Webex platform and enable new directions for the business. Sandhya also led Cisco’s investments in Xobni, a next generation email search and collaboration company, and SoonR, a mobile SaaS platform company, and was previously a Board Observer for Plaxo, which was recently acquired by Comcast.
Prior to her current role, Sandhya was a Product Line Manager in Cisco’s DataCenter Business Unit, responsible for parts of the MDS 9000 Family of Storage Networking Switches and for developing a new, low-end switching platform that went from $0 to $75M in revenue in under two years.
Prior to Cisco, Sandhya was one of the early business executives at Andiamo Systems, a datacenter networking startup that achieved the leading market share position in its space. Andiamo Systems was acquired by Cisco in 2004 and its product family currently has over an $800M annual revenue run rate.
Sandhya holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a Bachelors degree in Economics from Harvard University.
