Amar 
Amar Bhatkhandé is an Audit Partner and a leader in the Life Sciences and Technology Services Group for the firm’s West Coast practice, with over 25 years of experience in public accounting and 2 years in private. He possesses extensive knowledge in auditing and preparation of financial statements of public and private companies, as well as issues surrounding Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Industries served include: technology, life sciences, health care, financial services, sports and entertainment, retail. Amar has experience evaluating and documenting internal control systems, which has resulted in reduced turnaround time on subsequent audits.
Amar has led audit engagements for technology and life sciences start-ups, and public companies as well as a variety of hedge fund clients, including long-short funds, fund of funds, offshore master- feeder funds, RIAs and private equity funds. He has also been an integral part of the engagement team, performing special projects for major sports industry clients.
Amar started his career as an Equity Research Analyst for the India branch of a British investment banking powerhouse, before coming back to public accounting to focus on his core competencies. He has lived and worked in India, Oman, Canada and the United States, and has been on secondment to Bahrain. In addition, Amar was previously a Director of a Toronto-based company involved in the importing and selling of sterling silver jewelry.
Amar has presented in internal and external training programs, and regularly contributes to the firm’s technology and life sciences blogs and other topics.
