It had started out as The Indus Entrepreneurs in 1992 with the name ‘TiE’ being symbolic of the South Asian or the Indus roots of the founders. Over the years, TiE has evolved to stand for Talent, Ideas and Enterprise which, by the way, is what its current moniker is.
