A huge wave of innovation is about to hit the Internet. In the coming Internet of Things,we will grow from 5 billion computers to 50 billion devices of all types, communicating through the Internet. But the architecture of this Internet of Things is more complex than that of the Internet. There will be rings of things communicating through many incompatible network protocols featuring a multitude of applications delivered as a wide range of services.

This workshop will dive in to some of the tough technical issues and requirements surrounding
the Internet of Things. We will explore the different rings of technology and how they connect.

Connected Devices - types, characteristics, opportunities
Network Protocols - categories, pairing, interoperability
Applications - use cases, examples, opportunities
Services - types, providers, examples

Live demonstrations of technology in action will be displayed. Issues, obstacles and opportunities will be highlighted. There will be ample time for Q&A from the audience.
